Schwarzenegger Sides with Obama

Republican California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger went on the defense for the president yesterday, calling out Republican's hypocrisy when it came to the stimulus package.

"I find it interesting that you have a lot of the Republicans running around and pushing back on the stimulus money and saying this doesn't create any new jobs," he said yesterday on ABC's "This Week." "And then they go out and they do the photo ops and they are posing with the big check and they say, 'Isn't this great. Look what the kind of money I provide you for the state.' ... It doesn't match up."

That sort of bashing isn't new (Rachel Maddow served Republican's asses on a platter a couple weeks ago), but a celebrity Governor in the same party will make a lot of headlines. Schwarzenegger says the stimulus has brought 150,000 private and public sector jobs to the state. He also called them the "party of no," noting "they have to do everything they can in order to win in November." Oh, and the Tea Party movement, it's "just an expression of anger and dissatisfaction," he says.

Today, Schwarzenegger will be meet with President Obama privately.
