Jackson's 'Captain E.O.' Returns to Disneyland Tomorrow

It's a 17-minute musical movie adventure that brought together some of the country's most talented creative minds in the mid-80s, and 13 years after it ended its run "Captain E.O." is returning to the Tomorrowland Theatre at Disneyland in honor of its late star, Michael Jackson.

The theme park will be showing a new 70mm print of the 1986 film, which was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, produced by George Lucas, and stars Anjelica Huston alongside Jackson, notes the Daily News. A Disneyland rep says the film "will sound better than ever thanks to acoustic enhancements made to the theater since the film last played there in 1997," however a few of the "special effects elements from the original presentation cannot be replicated."

Check out this video from the premiere of "Captain E.O." in 1986, and see Coppola, Lucas, former Disney head exec Michael Eisner, some celebs, and behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the film.
