TV Junkie: Winter Olympics Great Despite...

- WTF NBC? It's an epic fail to tape-delay footage even for viewers who are in the same time zone as Vancouver. Also, why is Canada's CTV able to provide almost 2,400 hours of footage with 14 live streams to your 835 hours? Wow, great healthcare and 3x the event coverage, we hear the maple leaf calling us.
- After a bit of research, we've figured out that at least 30 of NBC's 53 commentators are over 50 years old and of the remainder, only a handful are less than 40 years old. We're not suggesting that the commentators need a bunch of facial piercings and tats to gain traction with younger viewers but it certainly isn't necessary to have been at the 1960 Winter Games to intelligently refer to events that transpired there.
- One thing NBC could do would be to get rid of the dead-weight embodied by the obnoxious, horse-toothed Mary Carillo and the bumbling Al Trautwig - both of these individuals leave the viewer less-informed and less-inspired after their broadcasts.

Tonight: A couple weeks ago we spoke with a producer at CBS who said that the network would engage in some tactical counter-programming but we see zero evidence of that this week. Instead we have Fox continuing fearlessly with "24", TNT's "Men of a Certain Age" (great episode tonight), FX's "Damages", and Showtime's trio of comedies.

Last week we wrote about the "Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!" fan page on Facebook and on Saturday afternoon they officially exceeded the number of fans the actual "SNL" fan page has. How long can NBC ignore it?
