The storms last week aided in eroding of the westbound lanes of Mulholland Drive just east of Coldwater Canyon Avenue, shutting down lanes between the avenue and Laurel Canyon Boulevard. Now the cash-strapped city of Los Angeles is seeking an estimated $600,000 for emergency repairs, says the LA Times.

The question is where will that money come from? While there is the option of dipping into the already-depleted reserve fund, the city is also seeking money from the state's Office of Emergency Services and FEMA. State politicians and members of congress have already been contacted for help in the situation, but who will come to L.A.'s rescue?

Eastbound traffic has not been affected by the 35 foot by 10 foot washout.
