Animal Attractions
What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day weekend than to get in touch with our base, animalistic desire to knock boots? Today at the Museum of Natural History we're invited to do just that via "Animal Attractions," the latest chapter in the museum's Art + Science program. Today's lineup includes a "smell" activity (ahh, pheromones) homemade animal valentines and an interpretive dance performance by the L.A. Contemporary Dance Company based on the mating rituals of spiders. Not sure if this will cure or deepen our arachnophobia. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

"Natural Dimensions" Art Exhibit
Join artist Eric R. Doolin at the opening of "Natural Dimensions" an exhibit of paintings that capture the mystifying nature of fractals. These larger than life pieces (some measuring 4 x 10 feet) will be on display at Jaxon Home on Venice Blvd. until March 14th. Tonights reception includes a raffle benefitting International Green Shield, an organization that strives to make deaths by natural disaster more preventable. 7 p.m., with a preview at 5 p.m.

Heartbeat: A Valentine's Day Frolic
For those of us rolling stag tonight, we offer this hot holiday party at Remedy Lounge which promises to get our romantic mojo flowing. New L.A. dating site The Lek + a game of Truth or Date + DJs Mr.Caparro and Jamesen Re + free drink specials = locking down a Valentine by midnight. Whether we'll be having dinner with them tomorrow night is beside the point. RSVP for free admission.

P.A.N.A.M.A. Cubed
This underground music/art collaboration event will feature the paintings, light sculptures and video projections of artist Isabelle Alford-Lago as well as the live DJ stylings of MANO, Android Cartel, MR. MR., David Dann, Varun, and Luis Miolaro. Apparently the new most hipster thing to do is not disclose where your awesome parties are, but we do know that anyone who RSVP'd on Facebook will be informed of where to go, and at some point today www.wearepanama.com will spill the beans on the location.
