Isiah Thomas Not Headed to Clippers

Our mothership Gothamist posted earlier today that Isiah Thomas might be given the keys to the Clippers. According to Jeff Goodman at Fox Sports, the Clippers reached out to Thomas to be head coach, general manager and president.

Ramona Shelburne at ESPNLosAngeles.com tweeted that the Clippers deny this story. "Just checked with Clippers brass on the report about Isiah and got an ALL CAPS denial."

With $5 million due to current general manager and head coach as of yesterday Mike Dunleavy until next season and owner Donald Sterling's miserly ways, it seems highly unlikely the Clippers would hand things over to Thomas.

Also not even the Clippers would hire someone who brought down an entire basketball league (the Continental Basketball Association) and a historic franchise in the New York Knicks. Hold that thought. This is the Clippers after all, so impossible is nothing (or nothing is impossible as Kevin Garnett would say.)
