Pleasure Chest Supports Efforts in Haiti
If you happen to be in the market for a bedroom accessory, now would be a fantastic time to make your purchase. For today only, the Pleasure Chest in Los Angeles (as well as its branches in Chicago and New York) pledge to donate 15% of its profits to Partners in Health, an organization that has been present in Haiti for decades and is currently providing relief to those affected by the disaster. If you'd like to skip the awkward purchase and go straight for the donation, click here.

"Wild Wild Westside" Tour
When we think west, we thing sand, sun and salubriousness, but alterna-tourism group Esotouric is here to remind us that the west side of L.A. has seen some pretty dark days. Some of the creepers you'll whose stomping grounds you'll visit on this tour include a murder suspect who willed herself into a coma to thwart a trial, two real-life witches who tortured children on the Venice shore as well as former members of the Synanon cult. Call 213-915-8687 to squeeze into today's noon tour. If you can't, we recommend marking your calendar for one of their upcoming excursions.

Meet the Directors: Golden Globe Nominees for Best Foreign Language Film
If you're up for a jam-packed parking lot and throwin' some 'bows, most definitely head out to the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood where you can meet and greet with the directors of this year's Golden Globe best foreign language film nominees. To our surprise, this event, which features Sebastian Silva (The Maid), Michael Haneke (The White Ribbon), Jacques Audiard (A Prophet) and Guiseppe Tornatore (Baaria) (although sadly not Pedro Almodovar) is free and open to the public, as is the parking. Get the deets here.

Getty Art Lecture
Just how did J. Paul Getty acquire his art? That question, along with many others, will be addressed at today's seminar on this history of his collection. Former museum director Stephen Garrett and former curators Gillian Wilson and Burton Fredericksen as well as current director Michael Brand will take us behind the curtain of working at the Getty, as well as enlighten us on the man who started it all. 4:30 p.m. at the Getty Villa.

Ingrid Croce Book Signing
Today Book Soup celebrates Jim Croce, a man who taught us life's simple truths: You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger, and you don't mess around with Jim. The legendary songwriter's widow and former musical collaborator Ingrid Croce will read from and sign her book, Jim Croce Anthology: The Stories Behind the Songs. 5:00 p.m.
