TV Junkie: 'Sons of Anarchy' Finale Write-Up; 'Nip/Tuck' Series Finale Announced; HBO's 'Boardwalk Empire' Set

Just a couple episodes of "Nip/Tuck" before hiatus - the final 9 episodes begin airing in January.
So what did you think about the "Sons of Anarchy" finale? We thought it was very well played and fully occupied the 90-minute slot but a few of the setups for next season were a little too obvious. [Caution: Spoiler] So they let Ethan Zobelle live and he will undoubtedly seek vengeance on SAMCRO for the death of his daughter; the neo-Nazis are after SAMCRO for the execution of AJ Weston (Henry Rollins); the Mayans are pissed at SAMCRO for the loss of several of their members; and the Irish have taken off with Jax's son; ATF Agent June Stahl really threw the cat among the pigeons in the final half our but the pigeons flew into predictable trajectories. This doesn't detract from what was an excellent season other than a couple slow episodes, but hey, you need to catch your breath every now and then. We look forward to next year!

On January 6th, the final nine episodes of FX's "Nip/Tuck" will begin airing. Guest stars in those episodes will include, and these are perfect: Melanie Griffith, Joan Rivers, Frances Conroy, Donna Mills and Joan Van Ark.

Simon Cowell's plan to bring his "X Factor" talent show to Las Vegas as a pay-per-view online-only venture will either revolutionize web-based TV broadcasting or will be a complete failure. We think Cowell's goal of hundreds of millions of paying viewers is a little far-fetched and if he needs hundreds of millions of paying viewers he's going to be disappointed.

8:00pm Christmas in Rockefeller Center NBC - Actors Jane Krakowski and Zachary Levi host the 77th annual tree-lighting ceremony in New York. This may or may not happen due to a potential strike per yesterday's TV Junkie.

9:00pm Glee FOX - When the Glee Club is left out of the yearbook due to budget cuts, almost everyone is relieved; Terri and Will's relationship is shaken to the core.

9:00pm MythBusters Discovery - The team tests two dangerous tales from the wrong side of the tracks.

10:00pm Nip/Tuck FX - Christian contemplates his relationship with Kimber; Sean begins to heal emotionally following an encounter with a perfection-seeking patient.
