Holiday MADness. (Member Appreciation Days)
Yesterday you couldn't have paid us to go shopping, but today we're reconsidering. Several LA-area museums are providing free admission to members today as well as 20% off at their gift shops, providing us with a way to get our holiday shopping started both early and on the cheap. That said, the details are a little sketchy. We know that SMMoA, OCMA and the Pasadena Museum of History are definitely participating, and supposedly so are these 20-some other spots, although clearly these dates are off. We recommend calling ahead if you plan to visit any other than the aforementioned.

Gone with the Wind Screening
Frankly, Scarlett, we DO give a damn! Head to the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood for a 70th Anniversary celebratory screening of this classic movie. Be sure to enter the drawing for a free Blue-Ray copy of the film. 7:30 p.m. Purchase tickets here.

Sexy Scorpio / Sagittarius Party - Bongs and Thongs
The Hollywood Hills will be hazy with marijuana mayhem tonight. Sayeth the party organizer, NJ Weedman: "We are living in the midst of a 'reefer revolution' and I am happy to be a part of it. And now that President Obama has put a moratortium on the Feds raiding local dispensaries like mine, there is even more reason to celebrate. My events are a positive cultural expression of the times we live in. It's all about 'One Love' and that's what I'm promoting with these reefer events - ONE LOVE." The event features live reggae and an open bar, as well as shuttle service from Capitol Records. $40 at the door.

Absinthe, Opium & Magic: 1920s Shanghai
Who knew Shanghai was the Vegas of the Roaring 20s? Relive it tonight with the Grand Guignolers, the Sing Song Girls, brawling gangsters, opium dens, blood and magic. Arrive early for pre-show activities including absinthe and tea tasting, the Charleston, a photo booth, dancing, Flashlight Follies and more. Cocktail or vintage attire suggested. Show runs through January 3rd. Purchase tickets here.
