How Fast Does Your Facial Hair Grow?

Cause if it's pretty fast, you still have time to get your mo on for Movember. Mo is Australian for moustache, and Movember is an organization that raises awareness and funds for prostate and testicular cancer. Much like the Avon 3-day walk or the AIDS Walk, men build teams and throughout the month of November, vigorously sit, wait, and grow, all while collecting money towards cancer research.

In other words, it's the man of leisure's way to help out. And in addition to working to fight cancer, the man with the best mo has a shot at winning the highly coveted title of Man of Movember.

If you're interested in becoming involved, here are some ideas for various moustaches, to get the creative juices flowing:

Fu Manchu: Favored among hipsters, possibly just for the chance to say "Fu Manchu," this one curves above the mouth and extends down past the lips.

Handlebar: Bushy in the middle, curving upwards towards the end. Somewhat evil in appearance.

Dali: Thin, curved up, wax or other styling products required. Slightly more evil in appearance than the handlebar, but also more surrealist.

and of course...

Au Naturel: Favored by the bold, this 'stache grows freely, answering to no man and no styling product, living without rules and recognizing no borders. Not for the faint of heart.

If your facial hair doesn't grow that fast -- or if you don't grow facial hair at all -- you can still be invovled. A Movember celebration will take place on Friday, December 4 at Avalon. Tickets are $10, but those who participated in Movember and raised $100 or more get in free.

I don't know what category my hairy upper lip qualifies for other than possibly a cop/'70s porn star-style, but it's been growing all month.
