- The two teen shooters charged with the death of a Long Beach honor student will be tried as adults.
- Two more smaller earthquakes rumbled under the ocean just off the California coast. A 4.5 quake was followed minutes later by a 3.6 magnitude shaker. There were no reports of damage or injuries.
- Thousands of fans are clogging the Westwood streets for the new "Twilight" movie premier. Great times...
- Cal Poly Pomona admitted that until recently, hundreds of applicant's Social Security numbers and other personal information was easily accessible online.
- LAUSD super Ramon Cortines warned that unless more cuts are made to the already paper thin school budget, thousands of jobs could be threatened.
- More budget blues... Due to huge budget cuts, the City of Colton has had to close the doors of some public buildings and send home city workers including police clerks and animal control officers. Three libraries are also in danger of being shut down.
- John Stamos is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk-of-Fame.
- A pilot who tried to make an emergency landing in a parking lot died when his single-engine aircraft hit a wall and burst into flames. No other injuries were reported.
- Finally... Malibu ran it's first ever marathon. The inaugural Malibu International Marathon, dubbed "The Run to Paradise", featured hundreds of runners representing various running groups, organizations and charities.
