Mission Street Block Party
Launch a preemptive strike on Black Friday by jumpstarting your holiday shopping in South Pasadena this weekend. Merchants on Mission Street from Fair Oaks Pharmacy to City Hall will hold open houses, offer discounts and give out goody bags (woot!) during this pre-holiday block party. 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Oxygen Tango Saturday Boot Camp
You can't just jump into the tango like you can the Electric Slide. There's lots to learn, so if you're looking for a quick and dirty way to get the basics, Oxygen's intensive tango boot camp may be it. Once you've mastered this immersion class you can join any of the org's beginner classes and continue your tango career from there. (Or, just take your rudimentary skills and hit the nearest salsa bar.) $65, or free if you bring two friends.

Monsters on Bikes! Benefit Art Show
Art, monsters, bikes, snacks, home brews, music, pinata fun, bike races, and vegan cookies! Bring your bike to this mobile art show which begins at York and Figueroa, continues to various art galleries and ends at the Flying Pigeon and Bike Oven for the Monsters On Bikes opening. The ride benefits two bike-friendly nonprofits, Bicycle Tree in the OC and the aforementioned Bike Oven in LA. 7 p.m.

Book Soup Reading
As was the case last week, Book Soup is still on the spirituality train, and frankly we're still intrigued. Tonight author Laurie Ann Levin reads from her book God, the Universe, and Where I Fit In, a memoir detailing her discovery of suppressed psychic abilities and how they awakened her to the unique ways we all fit together. Soul-searching begins at 7 p.m.
