Back in 2007, L.A. Ink's Kat Von D broke the world record for "most tattoos done in 24 hours." That record was soon shattered within six months in Texas and then again in Arizona. Now, the next attempt to break it will be back here locally this Friday, beginning at midnight.

Jeremy Swan, the tattoo artist and shop owner over at Broken Art Tattoo on Hyperion in Silver Lake, needs to place over 802 tattoos on customers to claim the title. Swan, however, wants to do around 900 tattoos (by comparison, Kat Von D did 417 to break the record).

How does it work? "Abiding to the rules of Guinness the tattoo must be 1.25 x 3 inches and have a minimum of two colors," Swan wrote on his blog. "I will offer 4 different designs. A bat. A heart with wings. The letters ‘LA’. And the number ‘13′ (for Friday the 13th) you can get one or all of these designs." It's not free, though. The first design will cost $20 with $10 for each extra. About 500 people have already signed up and if you want to, e-mail info@brokenarttattoo.com.

I don't think I'd want to be the person gets a tattoo in hour 23. You know?
