SuperClásico Playoff Series Finale Is Serious Business

Come Monday morning, only one L.A. side will remain in the hunt for MLS Cup 2009. The fortunate team that will continue its trek will be determined later this afternoon at the Home Depot Center when the Galaxy and Chivas USA close out the first-ever SuperClásico playoff series.

Expectations are high for this match following a high scoring and tense first leg last Sunday. A repeat is expected this afternoon and chances are this match will also live up to the hype. There is little else to add regarding this match that hasn't already been stated, so this time around, we'll leave the talking to some of the combatants and strategists.

LAist headed down to Saturday's Chivas USA practice and here is what they had to say:

Birria for lunch anyone? Fuck Chivas and Angel's clear bias towards them.

LOL. Thanks for the comic relief.

Amazing.

I guess sarcasm doesn't translate well via the intertubes.

there's only one team in LA, the Galaxy! COME ON YOU G's

I can't wait to watch this. It's going to be intense.

Angel, thanks for the updates.

It was a pretty good game, Galaxy kept the pressure up solid on Chivas for practically the entire game. Shame that it was a penalty that knocked Chivas out since their defense for most of the game did a superb job against a relentless (and scrappy) Galaxy assault.

The officials on the other hand... wow there was some shady moments!
