Street Closures & Parking Rules for Tonight's WeHo Halloween Carnaval

As it does every year, the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval is expected to draw a large crowd of revelers, bedecked in all sorts of creative and colorful attire, all looking to pack the streets and celebrate the day. The event runs from 6 to 11 tonight, and is not for the faint of heart; it will be boisterous and crowded, and navigating the area will be tricky for those attending, and those trying to get around it to go from here to there. If your plans for this spooky evening send you in the vicinity of the festivities, be aware of several street closures and changes to parking rules in the City of West Hollywood:

The following streets will be closed for the event:
--Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega and Doheny, from 1 p.m. through 6 a.m. Sunday
--Robertson Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, from 1 p.m. through 6 a.m. Sunday
--San Vicente Boulevard between Cynthia Street and Melrose, from 2 p.m. through 6 a.m. Sunday
--La Cienega between Holloway Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard, from 6 p.m. through 6 a.m. Sunday
--Sunset Boulevard eastbound and westbound turn lanes onto La Cienega Boulevard, from 6 p.m. through 7 a.m. Sunday
--La Peer Drive eastbound turn lane onto Santa Monica Boulevard, from 3 p.m. through 7 a.m. Sunday.

The City of West Hollywood will suspend permit parking for the Halloween Carnaval from 5 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 to 6 a.m., November 1, 2009. Meters will be enforced.

Carnaval-goers are asked to observe the boundaries of West Hollywood; if parking occurs in the City of Los Angeles, all parking restrictions must be observed.
