Low budget plus scary story telling has proved itself again. Following in the footsteps of The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity is now the highest grossing films ever with a 433,900 percent return on investment (the film cost $15,000 to make), according to The Wrap. Last weekend, its fifth in theatres, it was number one in the box office.

That math is off
Ummm...$15,000 plus another $10M in advertising yo.
I know this could be perceived as nitpicking, but 'most profitable' and 'highest grossing' are radically different standards. This may be one of the most profitable films ever, but unless it brought in a billion dollars yesterday, it is not yet even in the neighborhood of the highest grossing films.
I'll probably get some flak for this but I didn't like the film at all. It was too slow and not scary at all.
