Sriracha Hot Sauce Considering New Factory Location

Sriracha.jpg But not to fear, if Huy Fong Foods Inc. leaves Rosemead, they won't be leaving the Los Angeles metro. As the Asian rooster-labled hot sauce grows more popular (they were grossing over 10 million a year back in 2005), Huy Fong is looking for a larger facility and has found one in Irwindale, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. We firmly believe this concoction of jalapeños, garlic, sugar, salt and vinegar is a staple in every home. It's just so ammmaaaaaazzzzing.

Mix some Sriracha in with some ground beef the next time you make tacos. MMMMMM!!!!!

Damn, now I am hungry.

whoa, i had no clue that stuff was local.

On top of mac and cheese. So trashy, but oh so good.

The name Sriracha comes from the area in Vietnam where David Tran came from. Now that it's popular here, there are often several types of "Sriracha sauce" on the shelf when I shop, often sporting a very similar looking rooster on the label. The Huy Fong stuff is VERY different from the others, so always make sure you get the correct brand (Huy Fong Tuong ot Sriracha).

The NY Times did a story about it in May.

And yea, it rocks. I love mine on eggs for breakfast.

I still like it old school.. a squeeze of Srirachi in a bowl of pho..

Man...now I need to hit up Pho22 in Montrose. I need to stop reading Laist when I am hungry.

It's a must have with pho!

Serranos, not jalapeños...

According to their Wikipedia entry, they use jalapeños. "The company formerly used serrano chilis but found them difficult to harvest."

Huy Fung is good stuff. If you like it, I highly recommend trying out the other brands. Import food has a couple different ones available here

My favorite so far is the Shark Brand, it seems more savory than the others.
