School's T-Shirt Slogan Was Actually Sex Chat Line Number

Sounds like a tame enough idea: Print up some t-shirts with the school mascot running and make a slogan out of one of those 800 numbers that uses words instead of digits. Only one of the parents from Linda Vista Elementary School in Yorba Linda decided to give the presumably made-up number a whirl and found that number was something else entirely, according to the Pasadena Star-News. "The number was written as a cute slogan for the jog-a-thon event, but turned out to be a real phone line that was a she-male sex chat line." Whoops! Although the school has re-called the shirts, the fundraiser wasn't a total bust: The school principal says "the jog-a-thon raised $25,000 for student activities."

I don't get it... you request shirts to be made up featuring your school's mascot, but then use a fake phone number? (Which turns out to be real...)

Who's the mental midget that thought this up?

Why would you even USE a phone number other than one that references the school or the event it was planned for? Oh, you wanted to be "cute".

Next time, try using the ol' "555" prefix.

Don't lose your mind, Cinematica. It was a simple and harmless mistake.

Yeah, I guess I may have over-reacted. I need a vacation...

Read: the parent recognized the number from calling it frequently =D
