Chatsworth is Los Angeles. San Fernando is not. Hollywood is Los Angeles. West Hollywood is Not. Venice is Los Angeles. Marina del Rey is not. Studio City is Los Angeles. Culver City is not.

Yesterday, NPR's All Things Considered decided to inform listeners about their NPR West studio's location, interviewing the very proud Andrew Weissman, mayor of Culver City:

Also on NPR: All Things Considered also talks to Matt Scharper, California's Search and Rescue about the Yuppy 9-1-1 device. Listen below:

How interesting that the MAYOR of a CITY considered largely "PART OF LOS ANGELES" makes sure he's clear to say he's from/representing CULVER CITY, no matter how "adjacent to" or "thought to be just another area of" Los Angeles his city is. I'm thinking he doesn't, conversely, go to the Staples Center and yell out "I LOVE CULVER CITY!" to show how happy he is to be there.

And yet, if the Mayor of L.A.... Well, anyhow.

Just as nit-picky and whiny as your article!

should this be filed under LAst Laugh? ... chuckle ...

I had a great time in Culver City this past Friday night. Went to Bottle Rock for dinner and wine and then back to West Hollywood. Once the Expo line is completed you'll see people's appreciation for Culver City grow.

Despite what the Mayor of Culver City says Los Angeles in governable it just needs fixing and I'd like to here his suggestions. I'm sure his dismissal of LA was a little tongue and cheek but its easy to say something like this when you manage a city of 40,000 people with a median income of $60,000 compared to the city of Los Angeles with 3.8 million people and a median income of $36,000.

I see nothing wrong with the Mayor defending his wonderful city. I'm certain his "ungovernable" comment was said tongue-in-cheek. A resident of Hollywood, my office is located in CC and I thoroughly enjoy being here each day and I enjoy many of the restaurants and the new movie theater, even on weekends.

Hey Lindsay - you're a staunch supporter of LA. I see you're from "NoHo" - I'll venture a bet you never address your mail "Los Angeles"
