Weekend Movie Guide: It's a Reilly | Dafoe Weekend!

As some of you may know, I am perhaps the world's greatest fan of John C. Reilly. Anything John does (including music), I see (and usually like). Unfortunately, Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant may test that theory. Not sure how to say this, but it looks...really, really stupid. Hilary Swank will definitely NOT win an Oscar for Amelia since she's not playing a boy/masculine character. Oh wait, yes she is. Go ahead and give her the Oscar now. I never really watched Astro Boy as a kid and probably won't start now.

I really wanted to like Motherhood. I'm a huge fan of producer Christine Vichon, but just couldn't shake the overwhelming depression that the film imbued in me. Parenthood never looked so dreary. Lars von Trier shocked Cannes' audiences with his wildly violent and sexual Antichrist. Let's see how American audiences react (you know, the 0.5% of Americans that would knowingly see a von Trier film). I hate everything about the Saw series except for the fact that it gave a great character actor like Tobin Bell a good living. Other than that, I have nothing to say about Saw VI except, "I'll pass." See Antichrist instead if you need a jolt.
