Metro Approves the Long Range Transportation Plan

lrtp-passes.png In a unanimous vote, the Metro Board approved the Long Range Transportation Plan this afternoon. The document will guide transit planning in Los Angeles County for the next 30 years. One amendment was introduced and ultimately approved as well. Among a number of changes it brought, the most notable is a commitment to try to open the Gold Line Foothill Extension from Pasadena to Azusa before 2017.

I swear if I hear anymore noise asking for more Goldline I am going to scream. There not going to be happy until the Goldline goes to vegas. (now that I would get behind). Lets let somebody else get some rail projects first.

Um, multiple "somebody else" are behind these extensions.

I want to be the first one to say: Suck it "Bus Riders Union"!

At least get the Gold Line to the Ontario Airport. Then we can fly to Vegas.

At the rate Metro goes on things we will have the second phase of the CA High Speed Rail project done by the time the Gold line could get that far. Then we would already have a train that could go from Downtown LA to Ontario in 25 minutes.
