Tomorrow, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to sign the bill that will exempt developers of the proposed NFL stadium from some environmental laws, reports James Wagner at the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Once the law goes into affect, Ed Roski's Majestic Realty will be able to break ground on the 600-acre project, which has been delayed a year and one half.
The 75,000-seat stadium in the city of Industry near the 57 and 60 freeway junction, about 25 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, is expected to create 18,000 jobs. If signed, it will signal the end of a still-pending lawsuit brought forth by eight city of Walnut residents.
Up next are probably more lawsuits, whether frivolous or legit, and if the stadium can actually attract 75,000 people (and then what about the traffic?). Of course, the latter might depend on which team makes the move to Los Angeles. The Raiders and Chargers are on a list of teams Majestic is courting.

I'm expecting a lawsuit over the waiver of environmental laws.
Can the bill include a "No Raiders" clause?
Good to see LA places it's next sports team it will ignore (until it looks like it will make the playoffs) over its own environment.
At least its privately funded.
