Orange County FlyAway Service to Begin in November

LAX officials yesterday finalized plans for the fourth FlyAway route that will take passengers to and from Irvine. Beginning November 16th, the one-way 50-mile trip will cost $25 for adults (they won't accept cash, credit or debit only). Each fare allows for two students 8th grade and under to ride for free. Children under five also ride free.

Buses will depart for the airport from the Irvine Station where 500 surface parking spaces will be dedicated to FlyAway travelers, who can park for free up to 30 days.

Six trips will be made daily leaving Irvine at 4:45 a.m., 6:45 a.m., 8:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., and 4:45 p.m. and leaving LAX at 9:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 3:45 p.m., 5:45 p.m., 7:45 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

By 2015, LAX will be required (by law) to have nine FlyAway service sites throughout the region. Other sites include Van Nuys (the original!), Union Station and Westwood.
