Although his paintings were allegedly stolen fro his westside home last month, Richard L. Weisman waived the $25 million he could have gotten under his insurance policy, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Detectives would like to follow up with Weisman about that, but have found it hard to track down him. Weisman told the Seattle Times he waived it because he didn't want to go through the hasssle of an insurance company investigation.

"They turn you into a suspect. I just finally told them, 'I'm not going to go through it for three to five years. Forget it,'" Weisman said. "That's the only reason, and it's a good enough reason."

There are no suspects in the case, was no signs of forced entry at Weisman's house, no good witness accounts and all other valuable pieces of art were not taken in the alleged burglary.
