Pencil This In: Well Rounded Night of Music, Art and Science

MUSIC
It is hard to not like someone who brings out the best out of a classy guy like like Eminem without having to put much effort into the process. World famous DJ/musician Moby hits the Wiltern tonight with Kelli Starr. Show starts at 7 PM.

MUSICA
Guitarist Kevin Johansen is tonight's featured artist at the GRAMMY Museum's Latin Recording Academy Showcase. The Alaska native is a veteran of the Latin music scene, getting his start in Argentina before heading back to the States. His music puts a pop twist on traditional Latin rhythms such as cumbia, samba and other styles. Johansen is widely recognized as a creative lyricist and has toured throughout the States, Spain and Latin America. Tonight you can check him out for FREE at the GRAMMY Museum's sound stage, starting at 8 PM.

LECTURE
The Sci-Arc hosts another event at the William M. Keck Lecture Hall to commemorate architecture month in L.A. Tonight's topic: It's Called Landscape Architecture, Not Landscape Gardening for a Reason. Renowned landscape architect Lauri Olin will speak on the topic, drawing on years of experience working on small private residences and large public parks. Lecture begins at 7 PM and admission is FREE.

ART
Students from the Art Center College of Design share their interpretation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights doctrines. Formally adopted in 1948 in response to the atrocities of World War II, the doctrines have helped shape policy throughout the globe. Images for Human Rights: Student Voices is a collection of images that help reinforce the various human rights promoted by the doctrines. In addition, some of the images highlight troublesome violations from throughout the world, including the use of child soldiers and abuse of workers. The exhibit is part of the 60th anniversary celebration of the adoption of the doctrines by the U.N. and are on display through March of next year at the Skirball.

LEARN
Science aficionados should head down to Beckman Auditorium at Cal Tech tonight. Physics professor Christopher Martin talks about the universe around us as he presents Exploring the Ultraviolet Universe. Lecture begins at 8 PM. Admission is FREE.
