Tune-In, Turn-On, & RIP: Catch 'Good Food' at 11 a.m. on KCRW

gourmet-magazine.jpg This week was a bleak one for those who love "see food"--as in the words and images of the 60-year-old magazine Gourmet, which will serve up its last meal in the November issue following a death notice from publisher Conde Nast.

Eulogies have been pouring forth from bloggers and columnists, and this morning at 11, listeners of KCRW's "Good Food" program can hear two of our local taste-makers take a bite out of the issue. "Food writer Jonathan Gold—who formerly worked at the magazine—gives the eulogy for this highly respected publication. And LA Times Food Editor Russ Parsons has some thoughts on what will take Gourmet's place in our diverse media landscape." Adds the promo blurb from KCRW: "Food Bloggers, take note!"

Those of you heading to Union Station tonight for the Zocalo cocktail fundraiser may find the liquid courage to tell Mr. Gold in person their thoughts on the glossy's demise. (PS: Read more about tonight's event here, here, and here.)
