Farm to Table Dining: Farmer's Kitchen Opens in Hollywood

Consider it the "Little Restaurant that Could" in the heart of Hollywood: It's been well over a year since we first started prematurely salivating about a storefront near Sunset and Vine. With the weekly taunting of the abundant, crowded, and colorful Hollywood Farmers' Market not helping matters, the cheerful yellow eatery whose name evokes the core connection between the farm and the dining table, has been "coming soon" for a long, long time.

After being in the "soft open" phase for a while, the Farmer's Kitchen finally cut the official ribbon and welcomed in the public on Thursday at a well-attended event featuring guest speakers and a tantalizing buffet line showcasing the best of the market-fresh seasonal fare with which the eatery hopes to tempt diners from here on out.

LAist contributor Peggy Archer was on hand to capture (and taste) the celebration. Welcome to the neighborhood, Farmer's Kitchen!

Was so excited when I heard about this place.

Ate there yesterday.

Dull and uninspired food. You can't rely solely on the "Farmer's Market" gimmick, you actually need to make food that is enjoyable to eat.

I'm going to assume I caught them on a bad day (the day after their official opening?), but so far was greatly disappointed.
