Although the proposed football stadium in the city of Industry awaits an important, yet possibly disastrous environmental vote in the State Senate, planners are eying what teams they could bring to Los Angeles County.

"The Los Angeles Times declares the San Diego Chargers the frontrunner 'because the Chargers have a window each year to get out of their Qualcomm Stadium lease without the threat of a lawsuit,'" notes Field of Schemes, a sports stadium blog. "The Jacksonville Jaguars, who are blacking out their entire season on TV thanks to poor ticket sales, are considered next most likely, with the Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders earning honorable mention."

In another post, the blog adds in the San Francisco 49ers " if a vote for a new stadium in Santa Clara fails."

The San Diego Union-Tribune notes that Stadium developer "[Ed] Roski is a friend of the Spanos family," who own the Chargers.

Meanwhile, Roski, who lost $1 billion in personal wealth this last year, is pitching the rich in Orange County for lucrative tickets sales.

LA Chargers sounds dreadful. They belong in SD!

It's been done: http://www.profootballhof.com/userfiles//1960.jpg

The NFL's dirty secret is that its game are not fun to attend. Way too many TV timeout and pricey tickets. USC and UCLA are the way to go for a fun football weekend afternoon. So, obviously, I don't want LA to get a team. No upside and the downsides of more traffic and more a-hole LA fans, but if it screws over a-hole San Diego Charger fans, I'm in.

St. Louis and Oakland can keep their bunch of whiners.

until they actually plan to build a stadium near a metro line (red/gold/blue,etc.) this NFL pipe dream wont happen. We want to encourage people to NOT have to drive instead of the exact opposite.

Part of the plans do include a Metrolink station, but yeah, even if that happens, Metrolink service is much less frequent than a train every 12-minutes. Potential traffic mess on its way!

Metrolink won't run from OC to the proposed sites. Riders would have to go through Union Station.

I am strongly opposed to having an NFL franchise in Los Angeles. Throwball fans are some of the biggest douchebags in the world. It's hard enough to put up with cuntish Lakers fans. Is this really what you want, LA? Think of the children.

However, it would be interesting to see what happens to all the Raider Nation idiots here in LA. Would they remain loyal to that terrible excuse for a football team, or would they switch over?
