You would think it was at least 2010 yet. No, it's still 2009. You would think that Attorney General Jerry Brown has at least announced he is running for governor. And no, he filed paperwork Tuesday to form an exploratory committee. Yet still, Jerry Brown yesterday received endorsement from some powerful Hollywood folk, according to Variety.
"They all believe he knows the job inside and out and is the best qualified candidate to fix the mess in Sacramento," says Andy Spahn, a political consultant for Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen. "He was way ahead of his time in promoting the environment and renewable energy, on bringing diversity to government, and in championing the arts."
Variety notes that "in 2007, when they co-hosted a fund-raiser for Barack Obama, it was viewed as a turning point in his efforts to win support in a community once assumed to be overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton."
Democrat opponent and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who has the endorsement of Bill Clinton, said he looks forward to their endorsement when he wins the primary next June.

Oh no, the nut from the LAtimes blog (http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local-beat/Polanski-Politics-62916162.html) was right, the "Hollywood mafia" is at it again, probably endorsing him only in exchange to help Polanski!
Ok, now back to reality. This is pretty good, has nothing to do with Polanski, and Robert George is still a crazy-man.
I'm rooting for Gavin, but he has yet to demonstrate that he can win the general.
