Trojans to Rebound Against Cougars
People have been asking me all week what I thought of Saturday’s game between USC and the Washington State Cougars.
I guess they expected me to eviscerate the Trojans and expect them to lose two games in a row just because I accurately predicted they would lose to the Huskies.
How silly. Of course the Trojans are going to cream the Cougars.
This is a Washington State team that barely got its first win last week over Southern Methodist University after suffering double digit losses to Stanford and Hawaii.
They don’t have any continuity in the quarterback position. For this game sophomore Marshall Lobbestael will get the start, but they have true freshman Jeff Tuel on call who has yet to play a down. But in their opening game against Stanford, both senior Kevin Lopina and Lobbestael played. That’s not a good way to define your offense.
Meanwhile their junior running back standout James Montgomery is done for the season with a leg injury. Montgomery rushed for 118 yards against Hawaii last week and will be replaced by Dwight Tardy.
And their starting guards BJ Guerra and Zack Williams are also out of the game.

The defense is the worst in the conference allowing 537 yards per game and allowing 34.7 points per game.
Need I continue?
With Matt Barkley expected to start at quarterback for the Trojans despite still suffering from his bruised shoulder and linebacker Taylor Mays back in the lineup, this is going to be a laugher.
The Trojans are 49-point favorites, and I would lay the points.
Trojans 55. Cougars 3.
