San Antonio Winery Presents "A Taste of the Americas" Today

Today L.A.’s most-awarded winery will hold a " “Taste of the Americas ” Food and Wine Festival. It is the second of three festivals held at the San Antonio Winery this summer. Lunch will include food from North, South and Central Americas. Almost a dozen wines of the Americas will be available for tasting. The event runs from 2pm to 5pm today and is priced at 50. per person, reasonable, considering the amount of wine and exciting food.

Wines to be sampled include La Linda Torrontes 2008 (Argentina), Tierra Del Fuego Merlot 2007 (Chile), Luigi Bosca Melbec Reserva 2006, Mendoza (Argentina), L.A. Cetto Nebbiolo “Private Reserve” 2005, Guadalupe Valley (Mexico), and a Homemade Red and White Sangria, (“Nonna’s” Recipe).

These wines will be served with a feast of flavors, including Menudo and Chiles Rellenos from Mexico, Chicharron con Yucca (manioc with shredded pork salad), and Machuquillo (plantain & pork fritter) from Nicaragua. But wait, there's more! Delicacies such as Arepas Con Queso (fried maize pancake with cheese), and Sagu Verdadeiro (tapioca pearls in sweet red wine) from El Salvador, and Empanadas Criollas (beef savories), Mataribre Casero Relleno (stuffed rolled beef) from Argentina will also be served, along with special dishes from Brazil, Chile, and Jamaica.
