MUSICA
Colombian musician-songwriter Marta Gomez headlines the inaugural Latin Recording Academy Showcase at The GRAMMY Museum's Sound Stage at 7:30. Gomez's repertoire incorporates a variety of musical styles ranging from cumbias to the Cuban son. Tonight's interactive, acoustic performance will give audience members a chance to not only hear her music, but also ask questions about her influences, career or other matters of interest. Concert is FREE, but you do need to call/e-mail in advance to reserve a spot: 1.213.765.6830 or programs@grammymuseum.org

COMEDY
The Elephant Theatre in Hollywood invites you to some FREE comedy tonight, courtesy of the improv team Shakedown. Shakedown and The Improv Collective, an improv training school, join forces to put on the Room 101 showcase featuring established and up-and-coming improv teams from the area. Show starts at 9, but if you are really into the scene, show up earlier to catch some of The Improv Collective's student teams perform. Beer and wine are also available in exchange for a donation.

FARMERS MARKET
Buy local and fresh! If you are out in the San Dimas area, make sure to stop by the San Dimas Farmers Market open from 5 to 9 tonight. Along with all the great food and produce available for purchase, the event also features live music for your enjoyment. Got kids? Take them along to enjoy the inflatable playground.

FILM
The REDCAT Theatre features AUTOCONSTRUCCIÓN: THE FILM by Abraham Cruzvillegas. AUTOCONSTRUCCIÓN takes audience members to Cruzvillegas' Ajusco neighborhood in southern Mexico City to examine the self-construction phenomena that has shaped the area. A bilingual (Spanish/English) monograph accompanies the film and provides further insight into the artist's ties to the topic. Screens at 6:30, through November 8th.
