President Clinton to Join Gavin Newsom for Fundraiser

newsom_conversation.jpg Attorney General Jerry Brown may officially not be running for Governor yet, but he's raised a lot more money than San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who aggressively has been holding town hall meetings across the state. Today Newsom'e campaign announced that Former President Bill Clinton will join him at two events in Los Angeles, one of which that will be a fundraiser. A look at the first half of 2009's filings with the Secretary of State show that Newsom has about $1.2 million to work with while Brown has about $7.3 million for his campaign, currently for another run at Attorney General. However, if Brown decides to run for Governor, that money goes with him. Newsom is the only major Democratic candidate so far in the 2010 gubernatorial race.

Where and when will these two events take place?

Details haven't been announced yet:

Clinton's decision to appear on Oct. 5 alongside one of his wife's top backers in her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination comes at a critical time for the San Franciso mayor: Although Newsom has built a substantial Facebook and Twitter following among younger voters, Brown, a former two-term governor, has raised more than twice as much money as he has.

Clinton's trip to California next month is expected to include an event in predominantly Latino East Los Angeles as well as a high-dollar fundraiser.

Did Brown really think he was going to get the support of the Clintons?
92 was no walk in the park for the two campaigns.

I personally think Bill Clinton wouldn't campaign for Newsome if it wasn't for Brown. Hillary would to return the favor, but Bill, he can hold a grudge.

He never made up with Dukakis after the 88 DNC convention nor with Carter.
