UCLA's Starting QB Out 3-4 Weeks

UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel announced that starting quarterback Kevin Prince will be out 3-4 weeks with a broken jaw. He was injured toward the end of yesterday's game against Tennessee but was able to finish the game by kneeling in the victory formation to seal the win for the Bruins. The fracture is on the right side of his face and was discovered this morning during X-rays.

"This is a tough blow for Kevin and our football team," Neuheisel said in a statement. "We hope Kevin recovers quickly, but we have other talented quarterbacks in our program. We have confidence in all of our quarterbacks and we will get them ready to lead us against Kansas State."

The injury is especially painful since a similar situation happened last season when the starting and back-up quarterbacks were both out with injuries. Redshirt senior Kevin Craft took over last season and threw a school record 20 interceptions. This season true freshman Richard Brehaut is set as the back-up even though Craft took a snap in yesterday's game as Prince was being worked on the sidelines.

The Bruins are set to play the Wildcats Saturday.
