See TV Costumes in an Exhibit Closing Today
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the FIDM Museum present a show called "The Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design." This 4th annual exhibit puts visitors close up to the costumes that bring favorite small screen characters to life. See over 100 costumes, props and sketches from popular television shows of 2008-2009, including this year’s Emmy nominated designs. The show is free and open to the public today, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but today is closing day, so don't miss out!
Bueller...? Bueller....?
Cinespia screens the John Hughes 1986 new classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Gates open at 6:30 pm and the movie starts at 8:00 pm. No reservation is necessary; $10 donation tickets available at gate. Bring a picnic, blankets and friends...just no tall chairs! Enjoy DJ Richard Edson spinning before and after the screening.
Fiesta Hermosa
This weekend it's the 37th Annual Fiesta Hermosa, known as Southern California's largest Arts & Crafts Festival with over 270 vendors last year. Of course, many people bypass the booths on Hermosa Avenue and head straight to the Beer & Wine Garden! Hear all sorts of cover bands on the Pier and stuff yourself in the food court. Parking will be limited, so best to take the shuttle provided from the Northrop Grumman Parking Lot at the intersection of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Doolittle Street.

It's Target First Free Sunday, which means free admission to the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, where from Noon to 3:30 today you can check out Diwali: Indian Festival of Lights. Celebrate the victory of good over evil and the uplifting of spiritual darkness and learn about the richness of India with an introduction to yoga, the art of henna, sampling of food, and classical, folk, and Bollywood dances.
