Eye Nosh: Brunching at Silver Lake's Reservoir

EyeNosh_ReservoirRicottaPan.jpg

It's that time again: Weekend breakfast. Or, if you prefer: Brunch.

May we tempt you with this Eye Nosh-able shot of the Ricotta Pancakes with Lemon Creme Fraiche and Blueberry Sauce, Side of Seasonal Fruit and Maple Syrup enjoyed by food blogger and LAist Featured Photos pool contributor LA & OC Foodventures? Need some words to go with your picture? How about this, from his blog report:

These were simply superb, griddled to an ever-so-thin layer of crispiness on the outside while being fluffy-tender within. The trio of pancakes were delicious enough to eat with just the whippy-tart lemon creme fraiche and blueberry sauce toppings, but even better with a little dip of the accompanying maple syrup.
This breakfast was found at Reservoir, the seasonal-foods-focused restaurant in Silver Lake that just started serving brunch.

Thank you for extolling the virtues of another stupid, overpriced eating place during these hard times. Sites like yours that endorse the boutique-ification of local neighhorhoods make me sick.

I have to agree with Rodney. Not a fan of boutique-ification of L.A. And I miss Netty's terribly.

"Boutique-ification."

Isn't that the opposite of chain-restaurant-ification?

You'd prefer Wendy's?

Thanks for highlighting the dish!

And RE: "Boutique-ification" -- as far as I can remember Silver Lake (and nearby neighborhoods) has always got a funky mix of upscale boutiquey places alongside BoHo vintage joints. Yes, as of late it seems there's been more higher-end eateries opening up in the area (Domenico, Barbrix, etc.) but there's still a great variety of cheap-casual eats too -- and Reservoir isn't all that pricey for brunch, $10-12 for some truly delicious eats is well worth it IMO.

I had the ricotta pancakes a couple weeks ago for brunch and they are to die for! I thought the menu looked great and very reasonable priced. In fact, I'm going back with a group of friends next Sunday. Looking forward to trying something new & different, including one (or two) of their brunch cocktails!
