Last Weekend to Chill Out at Most City Swimming Pools

It seems like just yesterday we were prepping to dive into the deep end of Summer 2009, and now with Labor Day Weekend upon us it looks like it's time for us to start coming in from the water. Well, that's the case for most City of L.A. Public Swimming pools, as all but seven city seasonal aquatic facilities will close on Labor Day. You can get your swims in this afternoon until 5, Sunday from 1-5, and Monday from 1-5 if you're in need of a cool down and find yourself without a pool to dip your toes in.

The 7 pools that are participating in Operation Splash will be open until the 13th. Some important details via the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks:

Those seven locations are: Jackie Tatum/Harvard, Northridge, Stoner, Sun Valley, Griffith, Ritchie Valens, and Ross Snyder. The first four also have a slide. Hours for the seven extended seasonal pools will be 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. September 8-11 (Tuesday through Friday) and noon to 5:00 p.m. on September 12-13 (Saturday and Sunday). The Free Swim Program continues to allow children, seniors, and the disabled to swim for free. Adults ages 18-64 with a City Library Card can still swim for $2; admission for those without a card is $2.50.
