Former reigning beauty queen "Carrie Prejean has filed a lawsuit against Miss California USA officials who stripped her of her title, accusing them of libel and religious discrimination for her views on same-sex marriage," according to CNN.

22-year-old Prejean lost her title after much consideration on the part of Pageant owner Donald Trump, who initially defended the blonde during the unprecedented fallout caused by her response to a question posed by celebrity gossip maven Perez Hilton that put Prejean's (perhaps not-so-well-articulated) thoughts about same sex marriage on the spot. But in the wake of the on-stage incident came questionable photos of the winner, then word that she had begun to shirk her duties as Miss California USA. Finally Trump let her go and stripped her of her crown, leaving her to run into the beckoning arms of sympathetic Christian and right-wing media, including the publisher of her upcoming memoir, due out later this year.

Believing she was let go not for her behavior prior to and after being awarded the crown, but rather because "in [her] country" the way to go is "opposite marriage" Prejean's suit claims she endured suffering because of "libel, public disclosure of private facts, religious discrimination, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress."

Luckily, in Prejean's country, good Christian girls pose topless and if things don't go your way you just sue someone!
