22-year-old Prejean lost her title after much consideration on the part of Pageant owner Donald Trump, who initially defended the blonde during the unprecedented fallout caused by her response to a question posed by celebrity gossip maven Perez Hilton that put Prejean's (perhaps not-so-well-articulated) thoughts about same sex marriage on the spot. But in the wake of the on-stage incident came questionable photos of the winner, then word that she had begun to shirk her duties as Miss California USA. Finally Trump let her go and stripped her of her crown, leaving her to run into the beckoning arms of sympathetic Christian and right-wing media, including the publisher of her upcoming memoir, due out later this year.
Believing she was let go not for her behavior prior to and after being awarded the crown, but rather because "in [her] country" the way to go is "opposite marriage" Prejean's suit claims she endured suffering because of "libel, public disclosure of private facts, religious discrimination, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress."
Luckily, in Prejean's country, good Christian girls pose topless and if things don't go your way you just sue someone!

good christian = oxymoron
amen to that. I guess owning up your own behavior these days is rare behavior indeed. Don't 'tarnish' your character, sue somebody instead.
yawwwwwwwwwwn. she's had her 15 minutes. how boring and absurd.
Yup, she had to do something to get back into the news.
Good for her! She said what she believed and she has every right to protect her character against defamation.
Well, except that what she said was bigotry, not a religious belief...
sorry, only have room to care for one pagent queen...and that is still taken by miss teen south carolina (such as). next to bubb rubb and little sis, still makes me laugh pretty hard to this day.
whats up with the dude on the cross? What a morbid religion.
Can California sue her for defamation of character?
hmmmmmm...
So, how is she was discriminated against when she was publicly advocating discrimination against a minority?
She sparked a furor against the pageant and didn't live up to the responsibilities (which don't include publicly calling for bigotry!).
