SunPower Natural Cafe Opens in Cahuenga Pass

After 16 years as a raw and vegan chef, producing meals in containers found in places like Whole Foods, catering and traveling, Chef Rawsheed launched his very own storefront last May. Ultra vegan bloggers tried it out early and gave their thumbs up. It left Quarrygirl dying to go back and Foodeater is glad the Valley is "no longer the dreaded no-mans land that it used to be" because SunPower does raw food the way it's supposed to be done.

We agree, too, especially when it comes to the fruit based smoothies. It may seem like a leap, but we've never had a better smoothie in this town than their green one. Wow, just wow--talk about delicious raw energy.

Rawsheed says that the new cafe is just a foundation that will lead to more. He describes his meals as "conscious creations" and is thankful for the gift he's been given as he has no formal cooking education.

The restaurant is located in Cahuenga Pass (yes, an official city neighborhood), just south of Studio City as Ventura turns into Cahunega. Hours are not as normal as most cafes and restaurants, so make sure to check their website before heading over.

Althugh I am still dubious about green shakes, those are some delicious-looking pictures!

haha, yeah. And next to him is Erin from Animal Acres.

Agreed... those shakes are so amazing! Hard to imagine that something made of nuts and kale would make for such an incredible sweet treat, but it's true!

Warning, it feels like a dentist's waiting room in there since there's a giant desk/counter.

The tables are also crammed uncomfortably close together.
