Jack White to Open Pop-Up Record Store in Downtown

In promotion of his latest album, Jack White is opening a temporary record store on Main Street in downtown Los Angeles tomorrow through Friday. Third Man Records and Novelties, which last popped up in New York City (and has a permanent space in Nashville), will feature all things Jack White from the White Stripes, Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, which just released the album, Horehound.

The store is located at the Regent Theater and carries a bright new school bus yellow facade this week. "The pop-up is the continuation of a relationship between White and Downtown's Little Radio, which runs the Regent and its retail spaces," notes Eric Richardson at blogdowntown. "Little Radio hosted a screening of a filmed Dead Weather show in the Regent in July."

To kick things off, his latest band, The Dead Weather will be performing at the shop's Wednesday opening, with a first come first served show at noon. One lucky fan will also be treated to the band's final "golden ticket" by purchasing a copy of Horehound that also enters them into a contest to win a grand prize tour of the Nashville store. The band will also play tonight at The Wiltern and at the Mayan tomorrow night.
