Screw KFC and El Pollo Loco. Dinah's makes the real stuff.
Through the end of the month, Dinah's in Glendale is offering a free chicken lunch to "new customers". That means anyone over 18 with a picture ID. If you try to go back twice, your name will be on a list (and you will have really bad karma).
Customers have their choice of a leg and thigh or breast and wing plus one side dish absolutely free. From opening to closing. No "buy one get one free" no "free with purchase". No catch whatsoever. You just have to cough up for your own drink if you want one. If you want a "dinner" they will deduct the price of a lunch from the bill.
Dinah's told LAist it's a promotion to turn more people on to their amazing one-of-a-kind chicken. And might we suggest their coleslaw as your side? It's made with pineapple and seriously kicks ass.

Any word on the Dinah's on Sepulveda and Centinela near Culver City?
The two are not affiliated. Click on the link on the word Dinah's on the first line for the full story.
Is Dinah's good chicken? Is it fried?
I like that the offer is good through the end of the month, and not just on one day. Remember when El Pollo Loco did that recently? It was madness.
It is killer, juicy chicken with a crust that shatters in your mouth. It is fried in a specially made pressure cooker - so it is kind of fried, but not really fried.
Dinah's has a strong reputation for having the best fried chicken (which I've not tried yet). This will be a mob scene.
Holy crap, that is awesome.
Seriously some of the best fried chicken you can get in LA. Highly recommended.
I went in on Sunday 8/24 around 5:30p and they were packed, and parties of 7 waiting for a table. Still, there was no problem with getting my free 1st time customer special meal, to go. I got home and dug in to the best chicken I have ever had in my life! I will be back to bring some buckets of chicken to the next get together I go to.
