Shaq is now one of the newest investors in a San Diego based company that provides car owners with their own portable ethanol filling station at home. The Microfueler from GreenHouse is an in-home organic fuel microrefinery that allows you fill up any car that can take regular gas. The $10,000 contraption takes in a feedstock mixture to produce the ethanol that is pumped into cars.

"I tried it, I liked it," O'Neal told the Orange County Register. "I flew to Southern California to see it first hand. It's cost effective and it works. Hopefully, with my presence people will look at (the fuel system) and they'll try it."

To the Daily News, he explained that hopefully this start-up company will be the next big thing that people get behind. "I have a lot of deals come across my desk - good deals and bad deals - and this was a good deal. I believe in this company."

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger helped introduce The Microfueler at the beginning of June. "We always want to celebrate California’s creativity and California’s innovation and ingenuity and especially when it comes to green technology and especially when it is inspired and motivated by our groundbreaking environmental policies," he said on the front steps of the Capitol.

You'd need to be a SERIOUS driver for this thing to be worth it. If gas stays steady at $3/gallon, I'd have to fill up my '89 Toyota Corolla almost 280x for this thing to pay for itself.

I foresee more people opening neighborhood filling stations in their driveway.
