LAst Night's Action: Andre Does It Again - Angels are Ready

LA Dodgers beat Atlanta Braves 5-4. There were a lot of little subplots to last nights' Dodgers-Braves game. The Dodger lead was slowly slipping away (6 games over the idle Giants). Former Dodger Derek Lowe was making his return to Chavez Ravine with the Braves. Which Dodger team was going to show up? Would the Dodgers help Randy Wolf get a decision? Who knew WHAT to expect. In spite of all the uncertainty, one thing is for certain. If the game is on the line and Andre Ethier is at the plate, more often than not the Dodgers are gonna win. Andre hit his fourth career walk-off homer, a 3 run shot, to give the Dodgers the win over the Braves and keep the Dodgers 6 1/2 up of the Giants in the NL West.

Anaheim Angels beat Chicago White Sox 9-5. The Angels showed a little bit of everything in their win over the White Sox. Power: Four homers in the game (74 homers in their last 48 games). Speed: Chone Figgins stole 2nd and 3rd base before scoring on a sac fly to shallow right. Pitching: Ervin Santana settled down to record the win scattering 5 hits over 6 innings. With Vlad back and showing signs of hitting, the Angels are looking even better in the American League and at the right time as they set to face the Texas Rangers who sit 4 1/2 back of the Angels in the AL West.

The Case Is Closed
The league handed out fines but no suspensions to Guillermo Mota and Prince Fielder for what went down in Tuesday's Dodgers-Brewers game. Mota says he will not fight the ruling and looks to move on.

What Else Is Going On
Orlando Magic forward Rashard Lewis will miss 10 games in the upcoming NBA season for testing positive for an elevated testosterone level. Apparently he took some over-the-counter supplement that contained DHEA, a banned substance in the NBA. He will be suspended without pay and stands to lose $1.6 million of his $18 million salary.

Good call joits... With the Dodgers' penchant for late game heroics its a good idea to stick around. Besides, leaving the game early is just WEAK!
