LAst Night's Action: Grudgefeud of the Century Fails to Materialize

prince_fielder.jpg Brewers 4, Dodgers 1 - Fans expected some fireworks on Wednesday night, just one game after Milwaukee's Prince Charming Fielder tried to huff-n-puff-n-blow down the doors to the Dodgers clubhouse. They'll have to wait until Friday's regularly scheduled postgame show. Instead, Brewers hurler Braden Looper exacted revenge the old fashioned way -- by tossing a solid 6 and 2/3 innings. His second pitch of the evening wound up in the right field bleachers, but the Rafael Furcal leadoff homer must have been a leftover from the previous night's 17-4 scoring feast. Otherwise, it was a quiet game for Dodger bats. Jason Schmidt took the loss on just 3 2/3 innings, ending when he hit Craig Counsell with a pitch. Don't read too much into it. The bases were juiced (forcing in a run) but the pitch wasn't (71 mph).

White Sox 6, Angels 2 - It didn't help that Vladimir Guerrero was back in the lineup, the Angels just had an(other) off night. You remember them, right? From Anaheim? Hottest offense in the AL? Best record in the AL? Well, until this two-game mini-slump.

Further on Fielder - The league is investigating Wednesday's incident ... The video is making the rounds (h/t Deadspin) ... The Manny has been temporarily forgotten (probably because he didn't start on Wednesday).

Elsewhere - It looks like Kurt Rambis could be headed to Minnesota ... Vince Young goes from crazy good to just crazy ... Charger player tweets complaint about food, gets fined.

Tonight's Action - The Dodgers open up a series at home against the Braves at 7pm (TV: FSN PrimeTicket, Radio: KABC 790). The Angels will try to save face in Chicago at 11am Anaheim time (TV: Fox Sports West, Radio: KFWB 980 and KLAA 830) before returning home to host Texas this weekend.
