The Solution for Summertime Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup

It's been hot lately. Okay, really hot (at least in inland and in the Valley). But the weather should not stop us from enjoying the guilty pleasures of a simple grilled cheese and the usually-paired tomato soup. Problem is, 90-degree temperatures and soups are just not that fun. Thankfully local YouTube chef Aarti Paarti has a solution.

"Perhaps my tomato chutney recipe might satisfy your craving," she writes in an e-mail. "Whole grape tomatoes cooked with vinegar, onions, garlic, ginger, cilantro and brown sugar, finished with a yummy mustard seed oil that makes it oh-so South Indian! Slather it on your grilled cheese and voila: a little taste of your childhood, a little taste of something new. Cheap, easy, surprising... it's everything I love in a recipe!"

Hear, hear!

This girl is so charming and that sandwich looks incredible. How did I not know about her or mayo instead of butter?
