Pencil This In: Celebrating Jazz Greats, Ice Cream!

MUSIC
Terence Blanchard, Nicholas Payton, Christian McBride and Jimmy Cobb are amongst some of the musicians joining forces tonight to celebrate the work of jazz greats Miles Davis and Gil Evans. Tonight's performance will feature music from collaborative works by the two greats, including the highly acclaimed Sketches of Spain, Miles Ahead and Porgy and Bess. One night only, starting at 8 PM at the Hollywood Bowl.

EAT
I scream, you scream, everyone screams for ice cream! Stop by the Coolhaus truck at Algabar for some tasty artisan ice cream. Tonight they are featuring two ice cream sandwiches made from Maison Matcha and Double Happiness Earl Grey teas. What could be better on a warm summer night? 8 - 9 PM only!

BOOK SIGNING
Nature and photography fans will enjoy checking out The National Parks: Our American Landscape, a book by National Parks Conservation Association photographer Ian Shive. The book contains a collection of over 200 of his pictures taken at various parks throughout the nation. Ian will be signing copies of his book at Book Soup in West Hollywood starting at 7 PM.

THEATRE
Celebration Theatre plays host to the musical comedy Altar Boyz. It follows the lives of 5 small town boys as they work their way from Ohio bingo halls to West Hollywood, and includes songs with lyrics such as "Girl you make me wanna wait." The hit musical is sure to entertain. Through August 23rd.
