Cirque du Soleil Spends an Afternoon in Los Angeles
Before they set up in Santa Monica for a few months this Fall and then in Hollywood for 10 years, Cirque du Soleil performers from a handful of Vegas shows spent the afternoon on Sunday enduring the heat and The Grove's crowds.
"It was quite entertaining," wrote LAist Featured Photos contributor Joits, noting that it was an interesting choice to bring Zumanity, Cirque's adult themed show, to family friendly
Today the LA City Council is considering loaning Kodak Theatre owners $30 million to make improvements that will allow Cirque to operate a permanent 10-year show in Hollywood. The money, which is earmarked for redevelopment, is from the federal government with the city basically acting as the loan agent.
Currently, another troupe, Cirque Berzerk, is in Los Angeles and they have extended their run a handful of times.
