Brew Haw Haw 2009: Can You Think of a Better Reason to Drink?

The second annual Brew Haw Haw last Saturday attracted a medium-sized but lively (not rowdy) crowd 'Drinking for a Good Cause' to benefit of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It was nice to not have to wait in big lines for the food or beverages as the weather wasn't as blisteringly hot as last last year or days just prior.
There was was nothing micro about the full bodied tastes from microbreweries and brewpubs like Firestone-Walker, Lagunitas, Pyramid, Karl Strauss, and Mendocino Brewing. The summer brews and hefeweizen/wheat beers were popular, and even Sierra Nevada added Kellerweis hefe to its lineup.
For Designated Drivers and teetotalers, non-alcoholic drinks included HONEST
(not just tea anymore), POM Wonderful, and State of Mind Water. The lovely Coca Cola Ladies also served their eponymous soda. Careful though - the three refreshing and innocuous-sounding ciders were HARD!! Delicious food was served up by BJ's Brewhouse, Stonefire Grill, Bon Appetit at the Getty, 'We Bring It To You Gourmet Catering', Pop Chips, and Everybody's NUTS! Pistachios.
Live entertainment included returning Host Bil Dwyer and and an encore live performance by SF Bay Area's Blackstone Heist. They were even better than last year. Their music was rockin' and lively, but not loud enough to drown out serious beer discussion.
