City's Potential Lawsuit Against AEG Might be Over Donations to Police

When City Attorney Carmen Trutanich sat down with the L.A. City Council a couple weeks ago, he said his investigators found both "civil and criminal aspects" in their research that could lead to potential lawsuits. He would not discuss details publicly, but did go into a private session to talk about the civil aspects.

Today, TMZ is reporting that AEG has yet to deliver on promised donation money to the L.A. Police Foundation. "Sources in the City Attorney's office tell us complaints have been lodged by people who bought suites for the July 7th memorial at the Staples Center," says the website. "People who paid $5,000 for a suite claim AEG promised the money would be donated to the LA Police Foundation but AEG has not yet delivered a cent."

An unnamed AEG "rep" apparently told TMZ 18 suites at $5,000 a piece were purchased and that accounting of the event is not finished and the donations will be processed when that happens.
