"People get past looks when you put on a suit and your hair is grown," lawyer Nick Pacheco told the LA Times. Richard Rodriguez will cover his tattoos and gang-like image up by growing his hair out, a large mustache and will wear a suit and tie. Rodriguez' claim is against the city of El Monte and says he still experiences headaches, blurred vision and other symptoms. The lawyer for the Police Officers Association said the officer in question acted within the law--the kick was a "distraction blow."

i think it's a good thing he changed his look. i hope he gets some $ out of the case. i know the el monte police are justifying the reason for kicking him, but personally i think it's a load of BS.
i feel that no matter who you are, nobody should get kick in the head by a police officer.

I bet if that $5 million came out of El Monte P D's budget, it would put screeching halt to these officers who can't control their tempers.
This guy did put a LOT of people in danger by causing a high speed chase. He made it even worse by driving on the wrong side of the street. I'd like to know what led to the chase in the first place. He's lucky he wasn't shot.
Also, I think the makeover is disgusting. It's completely dishonest. He chose to tattoo his gang's name on his FACE. He's an idiot and a criminal and doesn't deserve a cent for getting hurt while committing a crime. The officer could have done much worse.

Im no fan of the police tactics in this case, but in the immortal words of Chris Rock " You know if you make the police chase you, they are bringing an ass kicking with them"
They just photoshopped that thing. That's hilarious. Not the greatest job either. Look at the hairline, it's way below his actual.
And if they're going this far, why not just add a footprint to his forehead, think that'd be much more effective.
Must be some photoshop intern, they don't even know how to use the clone tool properly.
